Description:

Jadeite and nephrite are two primary types of jade. Jadeite is chemically sodium aluminum silicate NaAlSi2O6, while nephrite comprises calcium magnesium iron or calcium iron aluminum silicate hydroxide Ca2Mg,Fe5Si8O22OH2. Under certn conditions, green omphacite can also fall under the jade umbrella. This gemstone is avlable in various colors including green, white, orange, yellow, laver, and black.

History and Lore:

Confucius emphasized that jade embodies virtue with its brilliance symbolizing heaven.

Bi Symbolism:

The ancient Chinese bi disc pierced through its center was a symbol of heaven.
